When: December 2, 2007
Where: United States of America
Who: Citizens of the U.S.
What: Stocks were mixed as investors weighed lower oil prices and a mild read on manufacturing ahead of a key reading on the labor market due at the end of the week.
Why: Stocks gained last week after comments from Federal Reserve officials suggested the central bank will cut rates again at its policy-meeting on Dec. 11. But the gains occurred at the end of an unusually rough November on Wall Street in which stocks got slammed on worries that the housing and credit market crisis will push the economy into recession.
